College transfer student majors in Journalism to become a writer for Q Magazine.

Adriana Lopez is a student at Cal State Fullerton who hopes to fulfill her career goals in journalism . Lopez has an interest in working for a music magazine or for the radio due to her love of music .

Although Lopez would love a career in radio her dream job would be to work Q Magazine. The magazine entails interviews with music artists as well as album reviews.

Lopez would want to focus on writing columns on artists she has interviewed.

Lopez knew exactly what she wanted to be when she read her first music article.

“I had read an article written about my favorite band, The Killers, and I loved it,” Lopez said.

Lopez felt closer to her favorite band after reading the article and loved how well written it was.

“I think I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since and I would love to make other people feel closer to their favorite musicians,” she said.

Lopez has never had an interest in writing music reviews. As a child she remembers reading articles of her favorite albums with bad reviews. Those reviews made her devastated.

“I don’t want to be that person,” Lopez said.

Lopez has always had a curiosity in people and that’s why journalism suits her.

“Every single person will have at least one interesting story to tell you, that makes listening to most people worth it,” she said.

With plenty of opportunities in the journalism industry she continues her studies as a standing junior excited to see what her future and school has to offer.

Lopez plans on receiving her bachelor degree in journalism, then going into a focus specifically in music journalism.
